Chapter Three

I sat on the couch alone cursing myself for even trying. It seemed almost certain that I had blown it. Wishing I could go back to ten minutes previously and just said nothing.

I sat watching TV for an hour before I heard some movement upstairs then light footsteps on the steps. Mom stepped into the living room her eyes looking a little glazed. I remembered that she had taken the wine with her. It looked as though she had polished it off.
